Jeffrey David Lee, 47, was formally charged with 23 offences when he appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He faced three counts of sexual intercourse with a child, eight counts of using a child to produce child pornography and accessing child pornography.
Lee has also been charged with assault, intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm and unlawful confinement.
The court heard all of those offences were allegedly committed against the same girl during 2012.
Four charges of bestiality stemmed from incidents that allegedly took place between 2011 and 2013, the court heard.
Lee did not enter pleas to any of the charges. He did not apply for bail
Lee, who was represented by a Legal Aid duty lawyer, was granted a three-week adjournment to seek legal advice and will face court again on August 2.
Prosecutor David Swan said the accused had already been refused bail in relation to other matters.
He was remanded in custody and marked a prisoner at risk.
