The father of well-known Canberra region vet Dr Ella Ormes Lichacz is calling for an inquiry into whether the diabetes medication she was taking may have contributed to her sudden death in March.
Dr Ormes Lichacz's death has sent shockwaves through the rural communities she served in and around the ACT from her base at Hall, with many friends and family left reeling by the unexpected death of the otherwise healthy 28-year-old.
Dr Ormes Lichacz, a type 1 diabetic, was known for her extraordinary strength and ability to manage her condition, but was found convulsing and slipping into a diabetic coma on March 24.

Wallabies centre Tevita Kuridrani will give the ACT Brumbies a much-needed selection boost ahead of their massive Anzac Day clash against the Otago Highlanders if he gets through training on Tuesday.
But Brumbies flanker Scott Fardy says he won't be using Anzac Day as further motivation to turn their season around because the sacrifices athletes make don't compare to those made by the armed forces.

For most Australians, Anzac Day means waking up early to attend the Dawn Service to commemorate and pay tribute to the fallen Anzacs.
But for former Australian Defence Force member Todd Berry it is also a time to reflect on sombre memories from his career in the military.
As a distraction, Mr Berry has challenged himself to run a 100-kilometre marathon to commemorate the Anzac centenary and raise money for physically and psychologically wounded veterans.

Writer Murray Middleton is the first to admit he is not a practical man. He is incapable of tying knots, struggles at hotel reception desks and during our interview he spills his flat white all over himself.
"I am shocking at most facets of life," he says. Yet Middleton, 31, has clearly found his niche.
