Police who stopped a car on the south coast of NSW on Wednesday night discovered the body of a woman in the vehicle believed to be missing Canberra woman Daniella D'Addario, as the male driver fled from officers into nearby bushland.
A perimeter has now been set up around the town of Bermagui as officers hunt for the driver, who ran away when officers stopped the car on the Tathra Bermagui Road at Cuttagee Point about 8.30pm.
Police are understood to be investigating whether the body is that of Ms D'Addario, 35, who was reported missing earlier this week along with Canberra man Josaia (Joey) Vosikata, 27.

Two northbound lanes on Drakeford Drive have been closed after a two-car collision at the O'Halloran Circuit intersection in Kambah, outside Namadgi School. Police say one traffic light has been knocked out. There were no injuries.
Night roadworks will being on Fairbairn Avenue, Morshead Drive and Monaro Highway over coming nights to allow for construction works related to the Majura Parkway project.
The following road closures will be in place between 6.30pm and 5am until Friday April 24.
- Fairbairn Avenue will be closed between the Northcott Drive roundabout and Majura Road.
- Morshead Drive will be closed between Fairbairn Avenue and Pialligo Avenue.

A Canadian resident has travelled almost 100,000 kilometres in the past five years to try and save the Canberra home he grew up in.
Former ACT resident John Gardner lived in the home from the age of eight through to 16, when his father received a posting as trade commissioner to the Australian High Commission in Ottawa.
