Acacia Ward, the seven-year-old girl who died in a car crash in Canberra's north last week, has been remembered as a brilliant musician who dared to become prime minister of Australia.

Northbound traffic will be temporarily diverted onto the old northbound dual lanes on Wednesday morning while works are completed. Traffic will revert to normal arrangements in the afternoon with traffic diverted onto the southbound carriageway.
It's all part of Majura Parkway project works, which will allow for the construction of the Monaro Highway southbound on-ramp from Pialligo Avenue.

Back by popular demand, several unique artworks will be reproduced by some peculiar local artists. While the abstract paintings proved a hit last year and sold out quickly, the identity of the artists may come as a surprise.
Running amok through a mixture of animal food, poster paint and soil, a team of eager meerkats made their mark with coloured paws on canvas to raise funding for Canberra's National Zoo and Aquarium annual art exhibition and sale.
"We started the [exhibition] last year and it was a huge success," senior wildlife keeper Renee Osterloh said.

Canberrans will now have the opportunity to delve into the history of Mephisto with the prized tank going on display at the Australian War Memorial. The tank will be on display for 18 months as part of a collaboration with the Queensland Museum.
