Luxury Canberra offices leased by the public service for $158 million just three years ago now sit half-empty.
The offices were leased to accommodate 750 public servants but the Industry Department has confirmed there are just 358 working there now.

When gorgeous Isobel Carroll was born in February, her parents, Andrew and Nicole, of Forde, were flooded with emotions.
There was pure joy for the safe arrival of their daughter and still the deepest grief for their son Samuel, who had died just over a year earlier, at a day old.
There is still no explanation for Samuel's death – a bonny boy weighing 4.38 kilos who was born at 40 weeks after a complication-free pregnancy.
The upcoming SIDS and Kids' Red Nose Day will support Samuel's familiy and families of all children tragically lost.

For those living on the poverty line and the unemployed, winter in Canberra can be a particularly difficult time of the year.
For some families, the elderly or those doing it tough, a large gas or electricity bill could leave them unable to put food on the table, according to Lynne Harwood from not-for-profit organisation Communities@Work.
