Parents of the Canberra teenager who was critically injured while skydiving at the weekend say they will be forever grateful to the instructor and "incredible hero" to whom their son owed his life.
On Saturday a sudden gust of wind swept Elijah Arranz and Adrenalin Skydive instructor Tony Rokov - who were tandem skydiving - into an uncontrollable freefall about 10 metres above the ground. It's believed Mr Rokov, 44, wrapped himself around Elijah to cushion him from impact. He died at the scene.

Brumbies president Geoff Larkham says it's time for fresh blood on the ACT Rugby Union board, revealing he will quit his role and retire after more than a decade at the helm.
But Larkham is adamant he leaves the Super Rugby club in a strong position to push into the future and backed the Brumbies to turn around its million-dollar financial deficit, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
- Larkham was among the nine people inducted into the ACT Sport Hall of Fame on Monday, joining former Sydney Swan Craig Bolton, basketballer Sue Geh, lawn bowler Adam Jeffery, Paralympic athlete Lisa Llorens and Paralympic skier Michael Milton.

9.52am: One westbound lane of Belconnen Way is closed after a two-car crash at its intersection with cross-streets Lathlain Street and Catchpole Street. The cars are currently stuck on the road which is causing some traffic issues. Ambulances are on the scene. Police are also there directing traffic.
9.48am: Looks like there's been a crash at Lathlain Street and Catchpole Street in Belconnen. Emergency crews are on scene.

Two months after the shock dumping of his on-air partner Scott Masters, Canberra FM 104.7 breakfast radio presenter Nigel Johnson has also called it quits.
Mr Johnson announced his decision on Monday morning during the popular breakfast program, citing the recent shake-up in the show's line-up as a contributing factor.

Questacon has unveiled its latest exhibition and year 3 students from Mount Rogers Primary School have been among the first visitors.
The spider exhibition, which opens today, allows visitors to explore all aspects of a spider's life and get close with a virtual wolf spider.
