The weather is looking nice and mild as you head towards the weekend. The Friday forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 26 degrees, a low of 7 degrees and the possibility of some light winds.
Here's the news.
Stuart Flats residents relocated
Darrell Hicks will soon be kicked out of the flat he has called home since 1993.
The ACT government is preparing to demolish the Stuart Flats in Griffith, making way for a private development as part of wider urban development plans.
"It had a bad reputation, but that's what happens when you put that many people on the dole all living in the same area," Mr Hicks said.
"But it's been home to so many people."

'Soul destroying': Popular pet program in danger of closing
For more than a decade the RSCPA has offered free shelter to the pets of those escaping domestic violence.
But now, the popular program is in danger of closing due to a lack of resources and community support.
Simon Yates, who runs the Project SAFE initiative, said demand had doubled in recent years.
"It takes a big emotional toll, having to prioritise those requests. You get people saying I'll have to sleep in my car. These are really beloved animals."

Canberrans will leg it for faster buses
Canberrans are prepared to vote with their feet when it comes to better public transport in the territory.
A Transport Canberra survey released on Friday revealed 532 of the 678 respondents (78 per cent) were willing to travel farther to catch the bus in exchange for a more regular service.
The bus network will soon move to a seven-day timetable, with buses running along nine rapid routes every 15 minutes from 7am to 7pm on weekdays, and at least every half an hour on weekends.

NCA worried about light rail plans
The National Capital Authority has warned the ACT government about its plans for the second stage of the territory's light rail project.
Canberra's iconic Parliament House vista could become a giant bottleneck if two lanes of traffic are permanently closed for light rail, the National Capital Authority has warned.
The Barr government released its preferred route for the second stage of light rail on Thursday, scotching the Parliament House option in favour of snaking through Barton and Parkes on the way to Woden.
However, because the rail line will run over Commonwealth land, the NCA can scuttle the route if they choose.
Billa spends koality time away from parents
Animal lovers, meet Billa.
He's the 15-month-old, cute as a button koala who is just setting out on his first steps towards independence.
From 12 months on, koalas in the wild start to make short trips from their mother to find their own home range.
From Thursday, Billa would be transitioned to a wider, 17-hectare eucalypt forest where he could learn to be away from mum for longer and longer periods and forage on his own.
