Two schools in Canberra's north have issued warnings to parents and students to be vigilant following separate reports of men trying to lure children into cars.

Students at Merici College and Ainslie School have reported being approached by a man in the past fortnight.
Both schools reported the incidents to ACT Police, although police could not provide information on Friday about whether they believed the incidents were related.
Merici College assistant principal Trazel Scott emailed parents on October 23 about the incidents.
''We are working closely with the police to monitor these unfortunate events and we have notified students through our daily notices to be aware of stranger danger,'' Ms Scott said.
''We are asking students, where possible, to travel in groups as they make their way to and from school.
''The police urge all students who feel unsafe at any time when commuting to and from school to dial 000 to ask for assistance.''
Ms Scott called on parents to reinforce safety measures in the school community.
Ainslie School parents received notification of another incident on Wednesday, in which a student was approached by a man in a white utility vehicle.
When the student refused to get into the man's car, the driver reportedly became angry.
The student then ran to safety at the Donaldson Street campus.
''The parents contacted ACT Policing who then contacted the school as part of their investigation,'' the email said.
