Some home roofs collapsed and others were left leaking after a severe thunderstorm lashed Canberra on Tuesday, dumping 22.2 millimetres of rain on the city and a whopping 35mm on Tuggeranong.

The storm, which began shortly after 11am, came in waves across the city, delivering more rain in a single morning than any day in the past three months, Bureau of Meteorology records show.
ACT emergency services crews were called out to 130 jobs on Monday working until 10pm to deal with issues ranging from minor flooding damage through to numerous leaking house roofs and some roofs even collapsing under the pressure. Three trees were also reported down.
"Calls have come in from all parts of Canberra since 11.30am and are being attended to by crews from ACT Fire and Rescue as well as the ACTSES," an Emergency Services Agency statement said.
The storm was the second in two days across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, after Monday's storm came with heavy rains and some minor flooding, resulting in 25 SES call-outs across the city.
Bureau duty forecaster Jordan Notara confirmed rainfall records showed Tuesday's falls across Canberra were the biggest since the start of 2017, and significantly higher than the next biggest fall in a single day, some 13mm recorded last Wednesday.
He said Wednesday would bring with it a top temperature of about 28 degrees with some showers and a chance of an early thunderstorm, but the most severe thunderstorms were more likely to affect areas of New South Wales, from Yass westward.
