A police officer was injured when a car refused to stop, mounted the median strip and ran into him or her, police said.

ACT Policing said officers had tried to stop the blue Ford Falcon earlier, after seeing it on Hibberson Street, Gungahlin, about 11am Saturday with number plates that did not match the vehicle type.
The car had a missing rear windscreen, which appeared to be covered in black material, and police tried to stop it on Gungahlin Drive, but the car drove off.
"A short time later the vehicle was observed driving along Kosciuszko Avenue. As police approached the vehicle the driver accelerated and collided with the vehicle in front before mounting the median strip and colliding with a police officer," police said in a statement.
"The vehicle, which sustained damage to the front end and a broken windscreen, sped from the scene on the incorrect side of Kosciuszko Avenue."
The police officer received minor injuries.
Police found the vehicle in Charnwood later that afternoon.
