The TV personality travelled directly from the airport to the Tuggeranong Hyperdome for a fashion show, but hoped to see more of the city.
''I felt like I was driving in the most beautiful countryside ever, it was absolutely gorgeous, it was nothing like what I expected Canberra to be,'' she said.
Ms Bickmore, known for her girl-next-door appeal, said it could be difficult for working women and mothers to keep up with the latest trends.
''I'm fortunate enough that I've got a stylist at work who throws me things and says 'this is what's in','' she told the audience.
''If I can pass on those tips to other people and encourage women with what the latest trends are and how to wear it, I'll hopefully save you guys a bit of time as well.''
Local young women modelled seasonal styles including polka dots, stripes, black and white, and blazers paired with shorts.
Sport luxe was another trend, with sport-inspired pieces dressed up with bold splashes of colour and gold.
Ms Bickmore said that, as a Melbourne resident, she had plenty of black clothes in her wardrobe.
''This season I made myself a pact that I was going to branch out more and wear some more exciting prints and bold colours,'' she said.
