Libraries ACT
Libraries ACT branches and the ACT Heritage Library will be closed from Monday 30 December 2013 to Wednesday 1 January 2014 (inclusive).
After-hours return chutes will be available for the return of library materials 24 hours a day at the Tuggeranong, Woden and Dickson branches from 1 pm Tuesday 24 December 2013 until 10 am Thursday 2 January 2014. For safety and security reasons, return chutes at all other libraries will not be open during this time.
The Mobile Librarys last visit of the year will be Saturday 21 December 2013. The service will resume Saturday 4 January 2014.
No items will fall due from Wednesday 25 December 2013 to Wednesday 1 January 2014. If your books are not overdue, renewals can be made online at www.library.act.gov.au (log in using your membership number and PIN). Telephone renewals can be made by phoning 6205 9000 (except 25 and 26 December).
ACTION Buses
ACTION Buses will operate on the following schedule -
- Monday 30 December 2013: Reduced timetable, 9 am to 5 pm
- Tuesday 31 December 2013: Reduced timetable, 9 am to 5 pm
- Wednesday 1 January 2014: Sunday timetable, 9 am to 5 pm
- Thursday 2 January 2014: Reduced timetable, 7 am to 8 pm
- Friday 3 January 2014: Reduced timetable, 7 am to 8 pm
This years Nightrider bus service is free and will operate a New Years service on 31 December 2013. Each Nightrider route will take passengers home every 90 minutes between 12.30am and 4.15am with extra services operating on New Years Eve.

National Arboretum Canberra
The Village Centre, Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, gift shop, Sprout Cafe, Conservatory Restaurant and National Bonsai and Penjing Collection closed on Wednesday 25 December 2013. The Arboretum grounds will remain open.
Parks and Nature Reserves
The park will remain open to visitors. Cafe Tidbinbilla will be closed from Monday 23 December 2013 to Friday 3 January 2014 (inclusive).
Canberrans and visitors are advised that during periods of wet weather, high winds or total fire bans, restrictions and closures may apply to many public reserves, forests and other areas. For further information please contact Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.

Domestic Animal Services (DAS) Shelter
The DAS Shelter will be closed from Sunday 29 December 2013 to Wednesday 1 January 2014 (inclusive).
Emergency after-hours services for dog attacks or injured dogs and cats are available by contacting Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.
Yarralumla Nursery
The Yarralumla Nursery Garden Centre will be closed from Monday 30 December 2013 to Wednesday 1 January 2014 (inclusive).
The Wholesale Nursery will be closed from Saturday 21 December 2013 to Sunday 5 January 2014 (inclusive).
Waste Management Services
Waste management services will operate on the following schedule -
Household waste and recycling collection: All collections other than Christmas Day will be as normal including New Years Day.
