A conman has stolen money from a blind Canberra woman over the weekend.

ACT Policing said the man approached the 80-year-old woman at her O'Connor home about 12.30pm Sunday, claiming he was there to check the sewerage.
The woman invited the man inside, where he stole a large sum of cash from a safe.
ACT Policing said the woman folds her currency notes in certain sized triangles to help her identify different denominations.
Police believe the unique folding method would be identifiable even when the notes were folded flat and have asked members of the public to keep an eye out for any money folded in this fashion.
Police have urged Canberrans to be vigilant about their personal and home safety and have asked people to:
- Avoid letting someone inside your home if you do not recognise them.
- Talk to people you don't know through a locked security door.
- Ask people to leave if you're unsure of their motives or contact police if they won't leave.
Police are urging anyone with information about the stolen cash, information about someone acting suspiciously in their area, or who is a victim of a similar scam to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au with reference number 5837619.
