Lyneham resident Jamie Gudgeon, 24, is facing four charges stemming from a police pursuit on Friday.
Police attempted to stop Gudgeon - who has been disqualified from driving since the middle of last year - about 9pm, but she allegedly sped away.
Gudgeon is alleged to have pulled onto the wrong side of the road, and smashed head-on into another car.
The accident left her partner - for whom she is a carer - trapped in the passenger seat.
He was taken to hospital and was still there on Monday morning.
Police found Gudgeon at the scene, and she was charged with four offences.
Police are also investigating her role in a high-speed pursuit a day earlier.
Authorities were forced to call off that chase after the car Gudgeon was travelling in crossed to the wrong side of the road.
No charges have yet been laid, and police are yet to determine whether Gudgeon or her partner was driving.
The prosecutor opposed bail for Gudgeon, saying she had shown that she would do whatever it took to avoid arrest, including putting the safety of the public and her partner at risk.
The prosecutor argued Gudgeon had shown ''no regard for court orders whatsoever'', and the likelihood of reoffending was ''simply too high''.
But Gudgeon told the court through her lawyer that her father had recently died and she wanted to attend his funeral in Jervis Bay.
The court heard Gudgeon acted as a carer for her partner, who has mental health issues, and had four children, all of whom were being looked after by relatives.
Gudgeon also claimed she wasn't driving her car on Friday night, and that her partner - who is also disqualified from driving - had moved out of the driver's seat to avoid getting caught.
Gudgeon was refused bail and will appear in court on Wednesday.
She was also formally charged on Monday over the alleged theft of petrol from a Coles Express service station and driving while disqualified in September.
The 24-year-old is also facing separate court hearings on a series of traffic and theft charges.
