And for all the destruction the only thing the offenders managed to get, was a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels.
Glass littered the sidewalk near the butcher's shop in Evatt, which was the first hit at about 2.30am. A stolen white Holden Commodore was used to smash through the front of the store.
Proprietor Darren Doblinger has owned his Evatt shop for 21 years and he said this is the first time he's had any trouble. He said the offenders left quickly when they saw there was nothing to steal.
"It's just craziness, just stupidity. They didn't even steal anything," he said.
Mr Doblinger said he believed his shop was hit because it was the only one without a bollard out front.
He said due to the extent of the damage, the repairs wouldn't be a simple task.
"Probably have to board it up tonight," he said.
The stolen Commodore was spotted by police at 2.35am on William Slim Drive in Giralang, but police lost sight of it.
Shortly afterwards, the same vehicle was used to ram-raid the BWS liquor store at Kaleen Plaza.
The front doors of the shop were smashed in, irreparably damaging the shutters and destroying the glass doors behind them, after which the offenders stole a number of bottles of alcohol.
A contractor at the scene of the incident estimated the damage bill at thousands of dollars.
Later in the morning, about 3.05am, two males were disturbed in a house in Giralang where an aggravated burglary had been reported.
One man claimed to have a gun before both fled. Nothing was taken, but the men are believed to be linked to the ram -aids.
The stolen vehicle was located and seized by police about 3.30am, parked a short distance from Kaleen Plaza.
Police has asked anyone with any information about the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website www.crimestoppers.com.au.
