ACT Ambulance Service were called to assist the man in his forties at the corner of Ainslie Avenue and Doonkuna Street at 6.40pm on Tuesday night.
He was later rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
An Emergency Services Agency statement said intensive-care paramedics also assessed the driver of a vehicle at the scene, but the driver did not require further treatment.
Traffic was redirected after the accident, with Ainslie Avenue closed in both directions for several hours between Elimatta Street and Doonkuna Street.
The road was fully reopened at 9.50pm, ACT Policing said.
On Thursday night an ACT Health spokeswoman said the man remained in a critical but stable condition.
