Higher parts of ACT could receive wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour on Thursday, meteorologists have warned.

Parts of the ACT, Snowy Mountains and South West Slopes could be hit with damaging west to northwesterly winds averaging 60 to 70 kilometres per hour from Thursday morning due to a cold front moving through the area, the Bureau of Meteorology said on Wednesday.
Alpine areas above 1900 metres, including the ACT's Mount Bimberi, could see peak gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour.
People in the Snowy Mountains area, including Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Thredbo, Cabramurra, Selwyn and Khancoban are warned to secure loose items around their homes and move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Sheep graziers were also advised that cold temperatures, rain and strong winds could be a risk to lambs and sheep exposed.
