Police stopped the 42-year-old driver from Lyons at 1.20am on Saturday, September 13 and took him to Tuggeranong Police Station.
He was breathalysed at the station and was found to be more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit, returning a reading of 0.162.
ACT Policing said that due to the man's level of intoxication and previous offences he was arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House.
He was charged with traffic offences including drink driving and bailed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
