A 31-YEAR-OLD was arrested for drink-driving twice within three hours on Friday and Saturday morning. ACT Policing suspended Youjoong Kwong’s licence on-the-spot after he was allegedly caught driving 45km/h above the speed limit at 10.45 pm. He was allegedly caught behind the wheel of the same car with a level three prescribed concentration of alcohol at 12.05 am. Mr Kwong was bailed on Saturday morning. He will return to court on February 24.

Fire starter jailed
A MAN who was bailed after lighting a fire during a total fire ban is back in jail for breaking three bail conditions. Victor Carnovale, 46, was released on strict bail conditions on Thursday. The ACT Magistrates Court was told on Friday evening ACT police visited Carnovale’s address at 11.05pm. He was not home but was stopped in Braddon at 1am and police allege he had a lighter in his possession. Magistrate Dingwall refused bail and remanded the man to the Alexander Maconochie Centre.
Apple battery fire
AN overheated battery led to a visit by firefighters to the Apple store in the Canberra Centre on Saturday morning.
There was a small amount of smoke from a battery and store staff placed the battery in a sealed container until firefighters arrived and removed it from the shop and centre.
Bushfire blazes
