A drunk driver has reached speeds of 150km/h during an early-morning police chase that took him around Parliament House and along two of Canberra's main avenues.

ACT Policing officers tried to stop a 22-year-old Kambah man who was driving a blue Holden Rodeo along Commonwealth Avenue at 129km/h in a 70km/h zone, about 12.30am on Thursday.
He failed to stop and led police around State Circle onto Adelaide Avenue in the direction of Woden.
The driver, who had a passenger on board, reached a speed of 150km/h before eventually pulling over and surrendering to police.
He was taken to Woden Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.115.
The man will be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court on charges relating to dangerous driving, impaired driving and speeding.
