The large cloud of dust covering the Canberra skyline is likely to remain above the capital until Sunday morning, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The dust had been expected to dissipate late on Saturday, when showers and a possible thunderstorm were forecast to hit the ACT.
But shortly after 7pm on Saturday, Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Jordan Notara said the rain was unlikely to eventuate.
"The dust is likely to hang around until early [Sunday] as it starts to disperse," Mr Notara said,
"That's going to turn towards the coastline tomorrow as westerly winds come through."
The dust, which became visible in Canberra about 10.30am on Saturday, was blown into the ACT from inland Queensland via parts of central NSW.
The ACT Ambulance Service warned people with respiratory conditions including hayfever and asthma to be vigilant this weekend while the dust lingered over the territory.
The service advised people with respiratory conditions to avoid going outside in storms that may emerge, have their reliever available, review their asthma action plan and review the steps of asthma first aid.
Anyone experiencing asthma symptoms or difficulty breathing was urged to seek medical advice, including by calling 000 in the event of an emergency, if they could not find relief in their usual treatment.
Mr Notara said Canberrans should expect good weather on Sunday after a recent run of rain.
"Mostly, it's sunny skies for Canberra with 27 degrees the top," he said.
The temperature is then likely to rise early in the working week, with sunny days and a high of 29 degrees predicted on Monday, followed by degrees 32 on Tuesday.
