A 75-year-old man was tackled to the ground and kicked repeatedly while being robbed after withdrawing money from an ATM.
Police said the man was followed into the ground-level Myer car park at Westfield Beclonnen after taking money from the Commonwealth Bank ATM about 9.40am.
"The offender threw the man to the ground and kicked him several times. The offender fled after stealing the man’s wallet," police said in a statement.
"The victim was taken to hospital, but has since been released."
Police said the offender was described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, about 170cm (5’7”) tall with a solid build. At the time, he was wearing a white hooded jumper with light brown sleeves, dark pants and white shoes.
