Fifteen people were evacuated at Hansel & Gretel Cafe in Townshend Street and Altree Court just after 12.30pm, after coffee beans in a roasting machine caught alight.
Two fire pumpers were called to the scene, along with the specialist breathing apparatus van and a command officer, and crews conducted ventilation operations.
An ESA spokesman said 15 people had been evacuated as a precaution after smoke came from the machine. The fire caused minimal damage.
