A former Marist College Canberra teacher will plead guilty to indecently assaulting two boys at the school in the 1980s, a court has been told.

Gregory Joseph Sutton, 65, was one of four men police charged with fresh offences earlier this year as part of an investigation into historical child sexual abuse in territory schools.
Sutton had faced allegations in the ACT Magistrates Court of indecent assault committed against two children in the early 1980s.
He had not entered pleas but the matter was committed to the ACT Supreme Court in August.
Sutton will now avoid going to trial after lawyers told the court on Thursday he would plead guilty to two charges of indecent assault against the boys in 1980 and 1981.
Those pleas are set to be formally entered when Sutton next faces court for sentencing proceedings on January 23 next year.
The court also heard the case against another former Marist brother, John William Chute, 84, would go to a hearing to decide whether he was fit to plead to six charges of indecent assault and two acts of indecency.
Chute, also known as Brother Kostka, allegedly committed the offences against two students at the Pearce college over several years from 1980.
He had recently been found unfit to plead in NSW, the court was told.
Past abuse by Sutton and Chute at schools associated with the Catholic Marist Brothers organisation, including Marist College Canberra, was closely examined during the ACT hearings of the child sex abuse royal commission.
The royal commission found the organisation moved Sutton and Chute to different schools when it received complaints they were inappropriately touching children.
The commission found Marist Brothers' actions enabled Sutton and Chute to continue to access children throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Two other men charged under ACT Policing's Operation Attest, which was set up last February in response to the royal commission, are also before the Supreme Court.
David Peter Kisun, 70, pleaded not guilty to three charges of indecently assaulting a male for offences that allegedly also occurred at Marist College Canberra in the early 1980s.
Kaleen's Peter Cuzner, 60, awaits trial on allegations he abused a 14-year-old boy in the 1980s.
Cuzner, a former Canberra teacher and ASIC senior executive, pleaded not guilty to three acts of indecency against the child in 1986.
