A fake police car clad with emergency lights and a blaring siren has been caught after driving dangerously and trying to pull over another driver in Canberra's north.

The black Ford Ranger was first reported to police on Saturday after the male driver was seen dangerously exiting the Canberra Stadium car park and driving along Ginninderra Drive with lights flashing and a siren sounding.
The man tried to pull over another car before turning off Ginninderra Drive and speeding along Hayden Drive.
Police found the car at a Gilmore property about 7.30pm Wednesday after searching the home.
Gungahlin police officers found a partial registration of the vehicle after the man's driving was reported. It was part on an ongoing investigation involving the vehicle.
A 35-year-old man is helping police with the investigation.
ACT Policing reminded residents that they may request to see a plain-clothed police officer's identification or badge and warrant card to confirm their identity.
Police are urging anyone who saw the black Ford Ranger driving with illuminated emergency lights to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444.
