A 43-year-old Farrer man will be taken to Canberra Hospital for psychiatric assessment after he attacked police with a molotov cocktail, injuring one officer, on Friday afternoon.

Farrer resident David Burnett was unable to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday morning, as he was deemed a risk to himself.
Magistrate Peter Dingwall went to the cells below the courtroom to hold the hearing.
Burnett was charged with acts of endangering life by throwing an inflammable substance, act to cause public alarm and possessing a knife without reasonable excuse.
Police said Burnett crashed his red coloured Nissan Navarra into two metal bollards in front of a Brindabella Park building, before entering the office at about 3pm.
It's been alleged he had knives strapped to his body, was holding a bag containing two molotov cocktails and threatened staff members with a wooden pick handle.
Burnett threw a lit molotov cocktail at an officer who arrived at the scene, setting a leg of his pants on fire.
Police have said another officer narrowly missed being hit being hit after Burnett picked up the cocktail and took aim for a second time.
Burnett was brought down after police used a taser on him.
Mr Dingwall directed Burnett be taken to Canberra Hospital's adult mental health unit for assessment, under section 309 of the Crimes Act.
The Director of Public Prosectuions prosecutor said the incident had no relation to national security, reiterating what police had after the initial incident on Friday.
An ACT Policing spokeswoman said the officer suffered minor burns to his right lower leg and on his upper thigh.
An ACT Health spokesman said he was in a stable condition on Friday afternoon.
