A man has died after his car left the road and struck a tree near Boorowa, north of the ACT.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, crashed late on Saturday night while driving north on Lachlan Valley Way, about 8km south of Boorowa.
His Holden Colorado hit a tree and he died at the scene.
Police say they are still investigating the crash, and closed Lachlan Valley Way in both directions for a number of hours.
A report will be prepared for the NSW coroner.
