A man who pleaded guilty to the hit-run that killed hospital worker Linda Cox has been charged over allegations he drove a stolen car and made off with $82 of petrol from a service station three weeks earlier.

Justin Lee Monfries, 25, faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday morning on two fresh charges from April 13, three weeks before the fatal hit-run outside the Canberra Hospital on May 3.
Monfries was charged with taking 52 litres of premium fuel from a service station without paying, and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
He did not enter pleas, and his lawyer was not present at the brief court appearance.
Last month, Monfries pleaded guilty to three charges stemming from the horrific crash that killed mother-of-two Mrs Cox and seriously injured Ashlee Bumpus, then 25.
The pair were leaving the Canberra Hospital after finishing their shifts, when Monfries ran a red light in a stolen car and hit both of them.
Monfries believed he was being chased by police after an earlier crash, which he allegedly drove away from without stopping. He kept driving after he hit Mrs Cox and Ms Bumpus, crashing into another car about 150 metres down the road.
He was arrested by police with the help of passers-by as he tried to run from the scene towards the hospital's multi-storey car park.
Monfries will appear before court again later this month.
