Events ACT marketing manager Adelina La Vita said the annual festival of flowers attracted more than 421,000 people in 2011 and organisers hoped to smash that number this year.
‘‘We’ve got a lot of people going through the gates,’’ she said.
While no official visitor figures are available yet, Ms La Vita said the considerable crowds on site enjoyed everything from wine tasting and cooking demonstrations to the bonsai display and petting zoo – as well as the odd bit of celebrity spotting.
‘‘We’ve had Jamie Durie onsite,’’ she said.
‘‘We also had the Passion for Fashion exhibition, where people could see all these beautiful dresses made out of flowers and leaves.’’
