Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Mapleton Avenue in Harrison at 1.39am.
Four people inside the home escaped without injury and no neighbouring properties were damaged.
The fire spread to the roof and the home was extensively damaged.
ACT Fire & Rescue attended with three pumpers, the breathing apparatus van, a CAFS unit and two Command Officers.
The cause of the blaze is unknown and routine fire investigations will be carried out.
The ACT Ambulance Service also attended.
