Firefighters have almost extinguished a fire that burned through large amounts of mulch at the Canberra Sand and Gravel facility in Holt.

The fire was burning through piles of mulch at the CSG facility on Parkwood Road, near the NSW/ACT border at west Belconnen.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and worked to contain the fire.
They had extinguished 60 per cent of the fire by 8.23pm.
No neighbouring properties or people were threatened.
Emergency services deployed two Compressed Air Fire Units, two pumpers, one water tanker, and one command vehicle.
A Rural Fire Service bulk water pumper was also assisting to fight the fire.
