Firefighters have contained two grass fires in Yarralumla and Kingston, as temperatures in the capital head towards 40 degrees on Wednesday.

The first incident took place 500 metres south of the National Zoo and Aquarium, but did not impact on the facility.
The fire measured 100m by 50m and the bushfire alert level was set at advice.
The fire was spotted by a passing fire truck and quickly extinguished. Seven ACT Rural Fire Service units and two ACT Fire & Rescue pumpers helped put out the fire after being called to the scene at about 12pm.
Five units will stay on the scene to patrol the burnt area throughout the afternoon.
A second fire was reported near Geijera Place in Kingston at about 2.30pm.
It burned about 30 square metres and was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
The cause of the fires is unknown at this stage.
