Violet Price, of Merimbula, was one of the excited children at Canberra Hospital when the Royal Canberra Show launched its showbags on Friday.

Violet, 2, has been in the hospital for a week with her mother, Lee-Anne, who is 25 weeks’ pregnant.

The visit from Canberra Raiders players bearing gifts was a welcome change of scene.

"She’s been playing with it all afternoon – dressing and undressing the doll," Ms Price said of her daughter’s "Mega Glamour" showbag.

"[But] I think she was more excited about seeing the footy boys ... she was excited to play with someone else."
