An elderly woman is being treated for smoke inhalation, after firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire in a Forde home on Tuesday afternoon.

ACT emergency services attended the property on Helen Leonard Crescent following a triple-0 call at 1.16pm.
A spokesperson for ACT Emergency Services Agency said the fire was started by cooking on the stove.
There was minor damage to the kitchen wall of the two-storey house and at 2pm, firefighters were ventilating the area.
