Gary John Fahey, 40, entered pleas of not guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday to 64 counts of dishonesty causing a risk of loss to a Commonwealth entity.
Fahey, who was an executive officer to Commissioner Andrew Colvin, is alleged to have used his AFP-issued credit card in a way that resulted in a loss to the Commonwealth of a total of $47,270.
Last year, the AFP said Fahey had been summonsed on the matters after a professional standards investigation.
Fahey, who the court heard lives in Brisbane, was excused from appearing the next time the matter appears in court later this year.
Magistrate Beth Campbell ordered the brief of evidence be served on the defence and the matter return to court in May.
