A former Olympic boxer could be extradited to Canberra within weeks to face sentence for a Fyshwick road rage assault

Adam Tony Forsyth, 34, is currently locked up in Western Australia for giving false or misleading evidence to Australian Crime Commission during a 2011 hearing.
He is serving a two-year sentence and is due for release on July 31.
An ACT Supreme Court mention of the matter on Monday discussed issuing a warrant for Forsyth so he could be brought to Canberra for sentence on one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Forsyth has repeatedly failed to appear in court to be sentenced for the crime, and the court last year issued a warrant for his arrest.
Justice Hilary Penfold on Monday asked the prosecution to check if that warrant would allow Forsyth's extradition to Canberra.
The heavyweight boxer was found guilty of bashing a truck driver in a Fyshwick street in 2007.
The confrontation began when the truck driver beeped at Forsyth as he tried to park a car on Wollongong Street.
The Athens Olympics quarter finalist then stuck his middle-finger up at the truck driver and the men got out of their cars.
Forsyth then punched the man in the head a number of times, leaving him with a broken nose, chipped tooth and serious bruises.
The offender fought the charges at trial, arguing he was acting in self-defence, but Justice Penfold rejected the argument and found him guilty in 2013.
But Forsyth had since moved to Western Australia and could not be located, missing a number of court appearances.
He later claimed he had failed to open his mail for three months, and had not known about the dates.
In July last year, Forsyth pleaded guilty to six counts of giving false or misleading evidence to the ACC during an inquiry, and was sentenced in the Perth District Court.
The charges stemmed from an examination in June 2011 related to the international transfer of cash and the sources of the money.
Judge Patrick O'Neal said Forsyth had lied "in detail and volume" and had "frustrated the inquiry taking place" with his persistent and repeated lies.
The judge sentenced Forsyth to two years jail, with a non-parole period of one year, with a recognisance of $20,000 to be of good behaviour upon release.
