The Commission will be sending teams to the Brumbies match on Sunday as part of efforts to enrol more than 10,000 voters currently missing from the electoral roll.
Commission spokesman Evan Ekin-Smyth said around 10 to 15 promotional staff would be handing out enrolment reminders outside the stadium in an effort to target young fans.
“Nationally, we are looking primarily at young people and that’s reflected in Canberra,” he said.
“Sporting games are attended highly by young people, as well as other people off the electoral roll.”
The event is part of nationwide push to find the 1.4 million missing voters, which will see Commission staff target AFL, NRL, Super Rugby and V8 supercars fans across the country over the next two weekends.
But unlike other games, Mr Ekin-Smyth said Brumbies fans would not be subjected to enrolment messages on the big screen.
