Justin Page used the stolen card to purchase fuel and motor oil from BP service stations in five Canberra suburbs over a four week period in 2011.
The ACT Magistrates Court heard Page used the card on 25 occasions, sometimes multiple times on the same day, between March 6 and April 2, 2011.
On Friday, Page was charged with obtaining property by deception.
The court heard Page used the card to rack up purchases of petrol, gas and motor oil at service stations in Phillip, Chisholm, Braddon, Watson, and Fyshwick.
Page represented himself during proceedings, but Magistrate Peter Morrison urged him to seek legal advice.
Magistrate Morrison put the matter over for mention in February, instructing Page to ask a lawyer if he would consent to the jurisdiction of the court or would seek a hearing in the ACT Supreme Court.
