A former member of the Australian Federal Police is accused of using his AFP credit card to defraud the Commonwealth of nearly $50,000.

Gary John Fahey, who was an executive officer to Commissioner Andrew Colvin, was summonsed to the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday to face the charges.
He did not appear in court but was legally represented. His solicitor, Tim Sharman, asked for an adjournment and the case was set down to return on November 30.
Mr Fahey, 40, will face 64 counts of dishonestly causing loss to a Commonwealth entity.
It is alleged he used his AFP-issued credit card in a way that resulted in a loss to the Commonwealth of a total of $47,270.
He has not entered pleas.
In a statement to the media outside court on Thursday, the AFP said it issued Mr Fahey with a summons on September 26, following an professional standards investigation.
