A man who allegedly hit another man over the head with a guitar in Hackett is to face assault charges in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

ACT Policing charged the 30-year-old NSW man with assault following the fight on Saturday afternoon in which another 30-year-old man suffered serious head injuries.
Around 5pm, police responded to reports of a disturbance in Hackett and found a man lying unconscious on the ground with head injuries.
Witnesses said he had been hit over the head with a guitar. ACT Ambulance Service attended and treated the injured man before taking him to The Canberra Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Police took the alleged offender, who was known to the victim, to the ACT Watch House. He has been charged with intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm and possession of a weapon with intent.
