Police said they went to the car park about 4.50pm as part of their investigation into an illegal firearm.
Police conducted an emergency Drug of Dependence Act search on the two vehicles in the car park and seized a Bruni handgun within a sports bag in one of the vehicles and a number of tablets suspected to be ecstasy.
Two men were taken into police custody during the search and later released without charge, but police say they remain persons of interest in the matter. Investigations are ongoing.
Police ask anyone who may have information about illicit firearms to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or at act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
