Police said in a statement that the two men, one allegedly armed with a silver handgun, entered the home of a man and a woman in Chisholm about 4.45am. The man with the gun assaulted the male resident, before the offenders stole some property and fled in two separate cars.
One offender drove away in a stolen silver Mitsubishi Mirage with a broken rear window and an ‘urban freestyle’ sticker, while the other drove another vehicle.
Ambulance paramedics treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.
One male offender was described as approximately 170 centimetres tall, with a bulky build, and close-cropped, light coloured hair. He was wearing a dark blue jumper with black tracksuit pants. The other man was described as having a dark, shaven head and was wearing a dark blue hoodie.
