The fire damaged one room on the first floor of the unit with smoke and heat damage to the rest of the property.
ACT Fire and Rescue deployed two fire pumpers, a breathing apparatus can, a hazardous materials unit and one commander to the fire.
An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesman said the fire was extinguished around 12.10pm.
One occupant was home at the time of the fire and safely evacuated the apartment which had a working smoke alarm.
No injuries were reported by the spokesman. Investigations are now being conducted into the cause of the fire, with firefighters saying it did not look suspicious.
