The honour was awarded to Construction Control at the Master Builders and Cbus ACT Excellence in Building Awards held at the National Convention Centre on Friday night.
More than 70 awards were presented from a strong list of 256 finalists.
Master Builders Association of the ACT executive director John Miller said the complexity of the client's requirements and the demands of working within a full-scale operating airport carried away the top prize.
The redevelopment included state-of-the-art engineering and some of the largest steel beams used for construction in Canberra.
The new terminal, opened on March 13, includes 3300 car parks, 10 passenger aerobridges, 34 check-in counters, a taxi rank with an indoor passenger waiting area and ''unparalleled environmental initiatives''. Judges considered the project to be an innovative, visionary and iconic gateway into the nation's capital.
A stunning combined holiday home and working farmhouse on the south coast was awarded the Master Builders House of the Year for 2013.
The Jamberoo home is in the north-west corner of a complex of existing farm buildings. It is made up of three pavilions connected through a breezeway creating a series of views throughout the building.
Judges awarded Bellevarde Constructions for the project, which they described as ''flawless craftsmanship, excellence, extraordinary, stunning and exceptional''. ''This building is a testament to what can be achieved by highly skilled craftsmen, truly faultless,'' they said.
Other winners during the night included Gotovac Homes for the Chief Minister's Affordable Housing Award, Harvey Norman Commercial for the Supplier of the Year award and Commercial Subcontractor of the Year was awarded to Erincole Building Services for the design and installation of the external wall cladding at the Women's and Children's Hospital at Woden.
Professional of the Year was awarded to architects Glen Dowse and Ross Norwood.
