French fashion entrepreneur Ewan Le Bourhis attended the sell-out designer showcase and was impressed by the capital's forward-thinking fashionistas.
He has decided Canberra should be the second city in the nation to sell his latest product and is negotiating with local retailers to stock a new French shoe designed by Tanya Heath.
The selling point of the footwear is its interchangeable quality. Every shoe has a removable heel that can be snapped into place to change from a dainty four-centimetre kitten heel to a staggering 9cm stiletto.
The shoes are not cheap, starting at $480 a pair (with one set of heels). But Mr Le Bourhis says the heels, which cost between $50 and $90, change the whole look of the shoe. ''We've got six heels that come in different colours and textures. They can be plain, glitter or leather.''
And every heel fits on any Tanya Heath shoe: ''It's a universal heel so any heel matches with any shoe.''
The shoes were developed in Paris and were launched there last year.
A Sydney store is expected to open on May 18 and the Australian website will take orders from July 1.
