The man accused of fatally stabbing his wife to death in their Gordon home protested his innocence and urged police to question her father and brother when he was grilled in the hours after the attack, a court heard.

Maged Mohommed Ahmed Al-Harazi's trial for the murder of Sabah Al-Mdwali, 28, continued in the ACT Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Prosecutors allege Al-Harazi, 36, attacked his wife during an argument as she fed their infant son.
The trial has heard the couple's marriage was turbulent; Ms Al-Mdwali wanted the couple and their three young children to live in Australia, while her husband desperately wanted to return to their home country of Yemen.
Her body was found with 57 stab wounds in an upstairs bedroom after the accused drove to Tuggeranong police station to report she'd been killed in the early hours of March 17, 2015.
The trial has heard the accused claimed his wife's father and teenage brother asked him to leave the Knoke Avenue house the night of March 16, and when he returned home the men had gone and she was dead.
Ms Al-Mdwali's father and brother were arrested but later released without charge. Al-Harazi was charged with murder, but denies the crime.
Jurors in the trial on Tuesday watched video footage of Al-Harazi being spoken to by police, with the help of an Arabic interpreter, in the hours after Ms Al-Mdwali was killed.
Al-Harazi could be seen wearing jeans and dark, long-sleeve T-shirt, as he declined to speak to a lawyer, consular official, friend or relative, saying, "I don't have any friends here."
The footage showed police telling Al-Harazi he was a suspect in his wife's murder.
He was heard to repeatedly ask why he was being subjected to questioning given he had gone to police and told them what happened. Al-Harazi urged them to question his wife's father and brother.
At one stage he asked, "Why are you doing this to me?"
Later, he said: "I'm innocent as my kids are, they didn't commit this crime".
He was heard telling police his father-in-law and brother-in-law came to the house and asked him to leave with his children; when he returned he found his wife in "that situation".
"I'm not accusing anyone, I'm just asking you to investigate to find out the culprit and I'm just telling you what I know."
Police later found passports for Al-Harazi, his wife and children in the glovebox of the car he had driven to the station, the court was told.
