Indoor swimmers at Canberra Olympic Pool are the latest to face planned closures, as the ACT government continues investigations into serious leaks at the 1955 facility.

On Wednesday, the government's sport and recreation services unit announced the indoor 50-metre pool at the Civic site would be closed for public use from April 27 to April 30 as part of the ongoing leak detection efforts.
The future of the whole facility remains in doubt following a March announcement that about 19 million litres a year had been leaking from the outdoor diving pool and children's swimming areas.
Both outdoor pools are now closed for public use as part of annual winter shutdown arrangements, but their reopening won't be confirmed until the leak investigations and repair strategies are completed.
The $100,000 annual leaks date back to 2012 and are equivalent to the loss of the entire volume of an Olympic-size pool every two weeks.
Already more than $260,000 has been spent trying to stop leaking water entering Canberra's stormwater system.
"Sport and Recreation Services apologises for any inconvenience caused by the four-day closure of the indoor pool, but can confirm that the Canberra Olympic Pool Health Club will remain open during this time," director Jenny Priest said in a statement.
"We appreciate the patience of members and pass holders as we work to find the source of the leaks at the Canberra Olympic Pool."
The temporary closure has seen arrangements made for pool members and visit pass holders to use the Lakeside Leisure Centre in Tuggeranong and the Canberra International Sports and Aquatic Centre in Belconnen.
"The ACT government remains committed to ensuring that the [Civic pool] can continue to operate for as long as it remains viable," Ms Priest said.
Pool memberships and visit passes will be extended for the number of days that the indoor 50-metre pool remains closed.
Territory and Municipal Services Minister Shane Rattenbury said last month plans for fixing the leaks will be announced when they are finalised, but raised the prospect that the outdoor pools might not be able to reopen.
The closures will impact regular and casual swimmers as well as water polo teams, underwater rugby and the ACT Diving Academy.
Tuggeranong Pool will be closed for weeks in July and August for separate repair works. The dates are yet to be finalised.
Opposition sport and recreation spokesman Steve Doszpot said further information was required.
"We'll be very interested to see the outcome of the leak investigation on the indoor pool and whether the leaks can be fixed," he said in a statement.
"If the future of the Canberra Olympic Pool is bleak, the government owes it to the community to be upfront, particularly to regular users like the diving academy, water rugby and water polo who will have to start looking for a new home."
The government has discussed plans to build a new public aquatic centre next to Lake Burley Griffin's west basin shore as part of its City to the Lake infrastructure plan, as well as a new pool in Molonglo.
A new city stadium planned for the Civic pool site but the new aquatic centre plan and other aspects of infrastructure renewal have been delayed as the government faces a deteriorating budget situation caused by the Mr Fluffy asbestos buyback scheme.
The ACT Heritage Council decided not to list the Canberra Olympic Pool site for heritage protection in 2014.
