In recent weeks the territory government has been advertising jobs described as assistant director of sales, marketing and Mingle, a new position worth $123,208 a year, and the another six-figure post of Mingle and marketing manager.
It turns out mingling - the act of mixing together with other people - is a big part of both jobs.
The top role involves managing a team and both jobs need people who can liaise with stakeholders and have an understanding of the ACT Government's legislative framework in relation to land development. The word mingle in this instance refers to a program that runs events to build community spirit in new real estate sub-divisions where residents appear en masse, seemingly overnight, in places such as Bonner, Wright and Coombs, with plans to extend it to Lawson and Moncrieff.
Land Development Agency chief executive David Dawes said Mingle was being well received.
As part of the Mingle program, the Land Development Agency hosted a successful Party at the Shops event at Bonner on Wednesday, which attracted about 300 residents. The event included live entertainment, face painting, balloon modelling, and a Woolworths charity barbecue.
Christian Lealiifano from the ACT Brumbies was also there to meet residents and sign autographs.
The event was held to help celebrate Canberra's 101st birthday and formed part of the program of Party at the Shops activities across Canberra over the past week.
