Husband-and-wife team Jocelyn Moorhouse and PJ Hogan will be in Canberra next month as Proof, the award-winning Aussie film Moorhouse directed and Hogan assisted-directed is shown back on the big screen 25 years after its release.
A digital restoration of the 1991-released film will be shown at the National Film and Sound Archive on December 2, with all box office proceeds from the screening going towards the NFSA Restores program, to digitally restore and preserve more Australian classic and cult film.
Moorhouse and Hogan will participate in a Q and A after the film.
She went on to make films including How to Make an American Quilt and The Dressmaker. He directed Muriel's Wedding, My Best Friend's Wedding and Peter Pan.
The restoration of Proof, which starred Hugo Weaving and Russell Crowe, was partly funded with donations from the Australian public
"I can't wait for Canberrans to see Proof back on the big screen, and experience this beautiful, pristine restoration. I love the film, it is one of my own kids in a way. My feelings have only grown fonder," Moorhouse said.
