Josaia Vosikata, 27, was found hiding in bushland on the NSW South Coast in April, after a Channel 7 cameraman noticed him and alerted police.
The body of Ms D'Addario, 35, was found in the boot of a Hydundai Getz near Bermagui.
NSW officers had earlier stopped the car, but Vosikata allegedly ran, prompting a manhunt.
Vosikata was arrested and extradited to the ACT, where he is facing a charge of murder in the Magistrates Court.
The case appeared again on Tuesday and Vosikata's new lawyer, Paul Edmonds, indicated his client would plead not guilty on the next occasion.
The case will reappear before the court in two weeks.
